Narrow wardrobe
For most of us, the problem of the lack of space in the apartment is familiar firsthand. And if earlier in close Khrushchev houses huge uncomfortable cabinets, which occupied half a room, were installed everywhere, today this problem can be solved with the help of a convenient and functional narrow wardrobe. Small in depth, depending on the room, it can be with one or more doors.
Narrow cabinets - coupe - is a panacea for small close hallways. If it is properly positioned, it is possible to store not only clothes in it, but also all those items for which space is most often not found, and about which we constantly stumble - skis, sleds, rollers, umbrellas and even a bicycle. The most optimal cabinet option for a hallway of 40-45 cm will save about 20 cm of scarce space. Hangers with this width will be located frontally. A wardrobe with such a depth will look great not only in the hallway, but also in any other narrow and long room.
Built-in closet in a narrow corridor is better to choose in bright colors without catchy accents. If this is a tall cabinet in the entire height of the room, you can equip its upper bar with built-in lights.
The closet compartment of a small depth in the whole wall in the bedroom can be decorated with mirror doors and then you will not only solve the problem of storage, but also visually expand the space. The room will appear wider and airy. To improve the decor mirror cabinet doors can be decorated with sandblasted design or stained glass windows. In addition, such a cabinet can have a built-in folding or withdrawable dressing table - the dream of any woman.
If you have small children, it is advisable to choose shatterproof materials for the facades, for in a tight space a mirror and glass are easy to break.
Species
Like any other closet, a "coupe" system can be:
- Freestanding (freestanding). This is a completely autonomous and independent design. Their advantage is that such a cabinet, if necessary, can be moved to another place or taken with you to a new place of residence. Such a cabinet has all the necessary details.
- Built-in construction. Such a cabinet can only have a facade and guiding systems along which the doors will move.Sometimes there may be one side detail. In comparison with cabinet furniture, such a cabinet is less overall and less expensive in price, however, it will be extremely difficult to dismantle it in case of moving or repair.
- Combined type (semi-built). This type of construction speaks for itself: part of it can be built into the wall space of the room, and part of it is attached on the side. Such a cabinet may not have a back or side part.
Forms
As for the shape of narrow cabinets, here they are not much different from ordinary cabinets coupe. Traditionally, they are made of rectangular, angular, trapezoidal and radial shapes.
Rectangular design - the best option for a cabinet of small depth. If the cabinet has more than one sliding door, it will be equipped with a two-row guide system. Such cabinets may have a depth of 45 cm or less.
Corner and trapezoidal cabinets are often installed in rooms with a non-standard layout, where there are various niches and angles that are inconvenient to fill. Standard depth for such cabinets is 60cm.
Concerning cabinet radius system, then it is very problematic to make a narrow cabinet with a curved door, so this option is rarely practiced, however, this form also has a place to be.
Internal filling
Traditionally, all cabinets are conventionally divided into three functional areas. At the top there are shelves for hats and small accessories. There may be scarves, mittens, umbrellas and other trifles.
On average, in the largest compartment there is a bar and hangers for outerwear - coats, raincoats, jackets, etc. There may also be hooks and shelves for bags or cosmetics.
At the very bottom is kept shoes for all seasons. It may just be shelves, and maybe a shoe stand on wheels. This is a very convenient device - in a narrow closet it is very close and inconvenient to search for the desired pair, and the roller case can be rolled out and quietly familiarized with its contents. In addition, such a cabinet can have a box or compartment for shoe care products.
Optionally, you can equip a narrow cabinet with other sliding elements - shelves or drawers - baskets. By the way, baskets for a dressing room in the hallway optimally choose from a metal mesh. With this method of storage things are better ventilated, which is important for the corridor.
For greater functionality of the narrow wardrobe side, you can also add shelves and hooks. In the hallway you can put keys and gloves on them, and in the bedroom on such shelves can be placed cosmetics and other trifles.
Manufacturing materials
Sliding door guidance systems are usually made of aluminum or steel. Steel parts have more weight, so they break more often, but at the same time they are cheaper. Aluminum guides are lighter than steel and are not susceptible to rust and corrosion. However, this option is somewhat more expensive than steel.
The production of facades is a huge variety. The most economical of them is chipboard. About 80% of modern furniture is made of wood chips. The advanced version of chipboard is laminated chips, or laminated chipboard. This material has a huge number of different colors and textures. It is easier to work with him than with a tree, but at home the cut is poor quality, so if you do not have special equipment, this option for self-construction is better not to use.
The highest quality and most expensive material for the production of furniture is considered to be solid wood. Wooden furniture is considered the most durable and with proper care serves for decades. However, the price of such a cabinet will be very high.In addition, not every tree can be bent, so the manufacture of radius facades from an array of problematic.
The best combination of price and quality is MDF. This material is very convenient in work - it is easy to cut it, leaving no chipping on the plate. Fasteners in MDF lasts much longer than in chipboard, because the material has a more dense structure. In addition, MDF boards can be bent and give them any shape. The facades of this material have ample opportunities for decoration. They can be finished with plastic, rattan, glass and even furniture leather.
