Until recently, mirror mosaic was rarely used in interiors.

Therefore, the cubes reflecting light can be used in any place of the interior, the facade of the building to decorate furniture and household items.

Modern mirror mosaic is extremely durable. It is harder to leave scratches on it than on a tile. Therefore, it can be included in the interior design. Like any glass, it is inert to moisture, chemical solutions, the effects of precipitation outside the building. This is a quality material for interior decoration.

The mirror surface acquires the shades of the surroundings, mimicking under any styles and color combinations of the space in which it is used.

Manufacturers produce self-adhesive mosaic, on the back of which has already been applied adhesive composition. It costs more than loose material. But then mount it easier. Even anyone can handle it.

Immediately before installation, it is necessary to remove the protective layer from the back of the composing fabric. This should not be done in advance so that the adhesive does not dry out. Next, you need to forcefully press the mosaic to the prepared surface and wait until the fragment is securely fastened. Adhesive composition perfectly interacts with the surface of the wall and securely fixes the canvas on it.

Separate use of brilliant pieces - mirror panels. This does not mean that the entire surface should consist only of mosaic. Such panels are a combination of matte and mirror surfaces. For example, a floral pattern or a leaf motif made of mirror pieces can be placed against a background of matte white ceramic. Such panels look spectacular and expensive. You can order the masters, who will develop an individual drawing and collect the image together.

If you wish, you can create your own mosaic of pieces of the mirror. But this process requires adherence to a certain technology. First you need to find a mirror that is no longer needed. Next glass cutter is necessary to cut it into pieces. They should not be too small to make it easier to fasten on the base. Next you need to sandpaper to process the edges, so that you do not cut yourself on their sharp edges. Edge should be flat and dull.

Be sure to prepare the base (smooth, humped and dry). On the basis you can draw a pattern that will be laid out of the pieces of the mirror. In order to fix the mosaic, “liquid nails” glue is applied to the base and gently press down the decorative elements. Glue for ceramic products is contraindicated, as it negatively affects the surface of the mirror, corroding it from the back side. Be sure to observe the size of the seams, which is not more than 5 mm.

After that, you need to wait 3 hours until the mirror fragments adhere well. Then you can apply grout between the seams of a light or white shade. Dark colors will look bad with shimmering trim elements.The spatula should be rubber, so as not to damage the fragile glass. Be sure to remove excess grout in the joints.
